SaveAct partner changes its name

Eastern Cape NGO and SaveAct partner, the Angus Gillis Foundation, has changed its name to Ubunye. The organisation works in rural areas and focuses on the development and empowerment of individuals, groups and communities, teaching them to be self-reliant. Following a visit to South Africa by their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex, the organisation was able to announce the Patronage of Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex. SaveAct formed the partnership in March 2013 with Grahamstown-based NGO Ubunye to implement a savings-based model that will build on the strengths of the Foundation’s existing self-help groups.
