Zis’Ukhanyo (‘bringing light’) is a social business aimed at providing a value-added service to 80 000 members of savings groups predominantly in rural South Africa. It is a business incubated by SaveAct, an NGO building a programme for economically vulnerable segments of society.
SaveAct is seeking a highly capable, self-motivated, innovative business manager, able to read the market, source the right products, building the necessary systems for stock management and logistics, to able make a social impact at the last mile. The candidate should have strong planning and communication skills, be capable of working well with people, and able to build up a dependable set of supplier relations. The candidate should be tuned into the social and economic needs of the rural poor, especially women.
Zis’Ukhanyo is going digital, and is servicing savings group members by supplying farming inputs, as well as health and hygiene, and solar products.
The terms are: a one-year contract, renewable, based on performance.
Qualification in social business/ business.
Minimum of 3-4 years’ relevant experience.
The position is KZN/ N Eastern Cape based. Zulu and/or Xhosa preferable.
